Re : STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR CERTAIN

NOMINEES TO THE 2008 JUDICIAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS

FROM SOUTHERN METRO MANILA DISTRICT

Mabuhay:

We respectfully support and endorse the following Judges who have been nominated to the 2008 Judicial Excellence Awards:

  1. Hon. PATRIA DE LEON, RTC Branch 206, and Executive Judge, Muntinlupa City.

Judge Patria de Leon is a founding member in 2001 of the Las Pinas City Bar Association and had served as a Judicial Adviser of the LPBA in the past, together with her husband, Court of Appeals Associate Justice Magdangal de Leon, both of whom had shown their dedication to the Bar, the rule of law, and the administration of justice by their active participation in the past Justice-related programs and activities of the LPBA which it had implemented in the southern Metro Manila district. They are model parents, with two new lawyers in the family, and are spiritual leaders of the Sukyo Mahikari Center in the Philippines.

  1. Hon. JOSELITO DJ VIBANDOR, Past Executive Judge, Branch 199 (Family Court), Las Pinas City.

Judge Joselito DJ Vibandor was a dedicated, industrious and pro-people Executive Judge of Las Pinas City in the past, as shown by his active role in the planning and implementation of the Bench and Bar Dialogues of the city and in our past persistent follow-ups for the renovation and expansion of the Hall of Justice of Las Pinas City.

  1. Hon. LEOPOLDO BARAQUIA, RTC Branch 200, and Executive Judge, Las Pinas City.

Judge Leopoldo Baraquia is the hardworking and humble incumbent Executive Judge of our city. He has likewise actively participated in the various local bench and bar dialogues in our city. He has maintained his official links with the local bar and the local Government to enhance the administration of justice in our city.

  1. Hon. ERLINDA ALVARO, RTC 198, Las Pinas City.

Judge Erlinda Alvaro is a respected trial judge of our city, whose academic and professional credentials are impressive. She has participated as a resource person in the local bench and bar dialogues of our city. She is one judge whose decision writing style and legal research capability are worthy of emulation by other trial judges in the country.

The integrity and honesty of the above-named trial judges are impeccable. They are indeed great assets of the Philippine Judiciary.

Please include this letter in the respective 201 Files of the aforementioned trial judges, for the record and for future reference. (Someday, we are confident, they will become Court of Appeals Associate Justices, considering their credentials, performance, good moral character, wisdom, and pro-people and service-orientated spirit)).

May your day be blessed. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Atty. Manuel Laserna Jr.
