Use "Mabuhay" in all Court Processes and Writs

In the middle of this year I wrote the Chief Justice to revise all judicial forms and writs to use MABUHAY as a salutatory greetings to infuse Filipino culture in our judicial documentations.

MABUHAY:

The Las Pinas City Bar Association (LPBA), Inc. respectfully expresses its sincerest gratitude to your good self for allowing its Chairman, Atty. Richard Funk, and its undersigned Board Consultant to participate in the recent National Consultative Summit on Extrajudicial Killings and Enforced Disappearances held on July 16 and 17, 2007 at the Manila Hotel. It was a historical and unprecedented event.

On another topic, the undersigned respectfully wishes to suggest to your good self to revise all judicial forms, summons, subpoena, issuances, processes and writs to amend their salutation from the old Westernized term “GREETINGS” to the truly alive and welcoming Filipino term “MABUHAY”, as a minor contribution of the Judiciary in helping promote Filipino culture, values and identity.

Please let us know of the action that your good office has taken hereon.

May your day be blessed, happy, enlightened, and liberated. Thank you.

Sincerely.

Atty. MANUEL J. LASERNA JR.
